Professional Development
Over the past 40 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside educators across Asia, helping design, deliver and promote professional development that’s both relevant and practical. From the days of in-person workshops with overhead projectors to global webinars and AI-driven coaching, I’ve seen - and been part of - the evolution of what CPD looks like.
Just a short hop from Thailand, Singapore has long been a place I’ve admired and worked in. I’ve collaborated with individual international and local schools and even consulted on projects involving the Ministry of Education (MOE). Singapore’s forward-thinking education policies - particularly its focus on Self-Directed Learning, collaboration, values-driven education, and digital readiness - have always impressed me. These aren’t just buzzwords there. They’re woven into classroom practice and leadership strategy in a way many systems still struggle to achieve.
Today, teachers everywhere are navigating more complex roles. CPD has shifted from occasional top-down training to an ongoing, personalised journey. Educators are seeking support not just in pedagogy or subject knowledge, but in digital fluency, AI integration, emotional resilience, and cultural literacy. Through initiatives like Shambles.net, international networks, and close partnerships across the region, I’ve supported thousands of teachers to grow, adapt and thrive.
With iESF, that mission continues - grounded in experience, responsive to change, and looking ahead but in a more reduced level as time actually does more on.
